Tehran's Mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Mayor of Hungarian capital city of Budapest Istvan Tarlos on Monday signed sisterhood agreement between Tehran and Budapest, IRNA reported.
On the sidelines of signing ceremony, Ghalibaf expressed hope that the agreement would prepare the ground for cooperation between the two countries, especially the two capitals, in fields of tourism, culture, economy and energy.
He called economic and cultural cooperation between cities and capitals effective and constructive in promotion of ties between Iran and Hungary. “Development of ties with world cosmopolitan cities in the framework of sisterhood is among Tehran Municipality’s top priorities,” Ghalibaf said.
Istvan Tarlos, for his part, said that Tehran has made great strides in the field of construction and transport compared to the well-known cities of the world.
He said that Tehran and Budapest have plenty of commonalties in the fields of new scientific technologies, energy and culture.
